- This study explores the ways the Community Peace Museums Heritage Foundation (CPMHF), a collective of sixteen rural museums in Kenya employs Indigenous peace heritage traditions through the expressive arts to resolve contemporary conflict within local communities, and between ethnic minority groups. Moreover, this research considers how Indigenous peace heritage traditions may offer an alternative to liberal peace practices, by providing examples of Indigenous methods of conflict resolution and reconciliation leading towards sustainable peace. Additionally, this research provides peace museum professionals of the global north an opportunity to learn from collogues in the global south on how the CPMHF apply Indigenous peace heritage traditions in exhibits, public and school programs, and in the protection of the environment.
