Garissa Cultural Centre

​In 2010, Kimberly contributed to artist workshops to enhance skills and improve Somali women supporting their families at the Garissa Cultural Centre in northeastern Kenya. The centre, built with community input, features a presentation space, a multipurpose hall, Indigenous huts, a traditional medicine garden, and a soccer field. Programs at the centre teach women to make wedding prayer mats and henna designs, providing income opportunities. An annual Somali Community Cultural Festival also takes place.
